Redken

Redken was founded over 50 years ago in the 1960’s by Paula Kent and Jehri Redding. Twelve years later, John Meehan became the Redken president and Paula Kent became the chairman and CEO.  Kent has been mentioned in an extensive amount of magazines as the “100 Top Corporate Women,” “Top Fifty Women Business Owners,” and “Eight Most Powerful Business Owners”. Although the Redken facility was originally built in California, destructive earthquakes caused them to relocate to New York City where it was renamed ‘Redken 5th Avenue’. This is where educators opened the Redken exchange in order to help guide, motivate, and educate salon professionals. In the early 2000’s, Redken artists were sent to work backstage during various fashion weeks throughout the world. Sadly, John Meehan passed away in the year 2005 and Paula Kent passed not too long ago in 2014.  Redken and its products have 9 million Google searches annually and are available in over 43 countries around the world. Because of its constant growth and success, Redken is the number one color and hair care brand in the United States today! This is why Hypnotic Hair Salon works exclusively with Redken as our only color brand, while carrying their amazing styling aids to complete the look! We always use the best, as our services are based on quality, not quantity. Hypnotic stylists visit the Redken Exchange in New York for hours of continuing education or we bring the education to us! As a Redken salon, we are currently under going vigorous training so ALL of our stylists at Hypnotic have the education to be Redken Color Certified!
